I had a meeting a few days ago in witch I learned that Guatemala is one of the top 50 spots to go birdwatching in the world. I mostly learned about birds, our birds. According to INGUAT (INSTITUTO GUATEMALTECO DE TURISMO) birdwatching tourist are the ones that spend the most when visiting our country. Imagine that, someone paying us lots of money just to watch our birds, in the wild…
In fact, INGUAT published a small, but internationally award winning, travel guide called "Birdwatching Guatemala". This guide is a high quality guide. You can find explanations of the different Guatemalan biomes or life zones that will take you through strategic routes. In only one week an experienced birdwatcher may recognize more than 300 species.

In the picture shown there is a small wine-throated hummingbird, one of the species of hummingbirds in Guatemala. Very impresive.
It is important for you to understand that in Guatemala different biogeographical aspects occur that make up one of the most interesting bird faunas in the continent. We have about 720 species of birds. Among our birds we find the Horned Guan, witch is classified as the 7th most impressive bird in the world, due to its rareness.
I write about this because no body knows about this incredible business opportunities that continue to emerge thanks to our geographical location that gives us 5 different kinds of forest.
Think green people, think nature...
