ABOUT SECRETS:
Any large organization that has a "militarized" or "carrot on the end of a stick" growth strategy for their employees will forgive and dismiss an employee screw up or mistake because of what the employee knows. This is one of the most important issues (and also one of the most overseen and never talked about in class) because you will not get fired if you know secrets, the small, but, in conjunction, large pie of random information you can only pick up by what I like to call "Office Networking".
You see, in the Office, you always, always have to be on your toes, picking up on everything that happens around you, specially looking for ways in which you can increase your network... of secrets.
Office Networking consist on getting to know, as many co-workers, as fast as you can. No matter the position or job description. A very important part of the juicy secrets will be when you have after office events, specially if people drink. When people drink they usually do something that either becomes a secret (misbehave) or tell other co-worker's secrets. In the Office you can also pick up on stuff by doing the casual coffee drinking, lunch, or water cooler chat. The trick in the office is to have a CSI approach: always set some bait, on the hook, and feed as much line as you can. Sometimes you reel in a big juicer.
All of this info, will help you when your in trouble, because even thou you may have signed a NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement), you can still, legally, say stuff about what you did in your free time, say after office activities. The work hour secrets, you shouldn't tell, but these can be helpful to set up situations latter in the day that can land you some other juicy facts.
Organizations will rather have an incomplete working amongst them than an embarrassment, just like in the movie American Beauty also notable in Fight Club.
My advice is to be a good friend to everyone, make less mistakes than the rest of your co-workers, even with an average job performance, you might get far, because saving face beats-out mistakes.
This blog is dedicated to the art of doing business and the new wave of green thinking. These two subjects have to be delicately merged together to start improving our planets ecological and human condition by evolving consciousness, improving our way of thinking by living the way each and every human should live.
